ANGAU Memorial General Hospital received thirteen boxes of medicines and consumables worth K13, 900 from the Phoenix Pharma, a Lae based pharmaceutical company that will help with staff medical check-ups and treatment.
The donation will go towards the screening of staff members during the National Health Week program. The ANGAU Hospital events committee during the National Health Week had planned for staff to undergo medical check-up and were overwhelmed be the donations received. This donation is very much appreciated as there are about 600 staff currently working at the hospital.
Director of Phoenix Phara Singapore Pty Ltd, Siddarameshwar said they are happy to contribute to this worthy cause.
“We will continue to extend our support to ANGAU Hospital, its staff and their families. Health workers are in the frontline in patient care and staff need to be taken care of as well, that is why we want to help where we can,” Siddarameshwar said.
Deputy Director for Nursing Services (Administration), Sr Udy Nombe who received the donation on behalf of the management said this is a hug donation towards staff health.
Some of the items donated include malaria test kits, diclofenac injection, face mask, disposable gloves, safex pregnancy test kit, amoxicillin, chloramphenicol, cetirizine to name a few.
The National Health week is a very important event for the hospital and the ANGAU events committee had rescheduled to September 4th – 7th to secure donations from business houses that will help staff to get proper medical check-ups and treatment.
