Exciting times ahead for ANGAU
These are exciting times for ANGAU Memorial General Hospital and the people of Morobe Province. For the first time in many years, we have reason to become excited with the care and services being provided by the “New” ANGAU Memorial General Hospital.
With the generous assistance of a partnership for health between PNG and Australia, we are now becoming the hospital the people of Morobe Province need and deserve.
Just in the last year alone we have replaced and opened three new wards to provide more care to our families but that is just the beginning. With the assistance of the Australia Government, we have refurbished our four existing Operating Theatres in the GWARE wing to international standards allowing for more surgical cases to be done locally.
The Government of Australia has provided a new operating theatre and maternity ward. They have also funded the new state of the art dental clinic on the Lae School of Nursing Campus.
With the support of the National Department of Health, we are in the early stages of building staff housing on our southern site. We are preparing our radiology department with a new CT Scan room. We are renovating our onsite housing units. Finally, we are deconstructing our old buildings to make room for the new ones.
All of this in the last year…imagine what is yet to come. Come and explore our website and see what’s next.
